My commitment
I want everyone to be able to explore my work, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control or captions. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What this site does
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Pages use clear headings, landmarks and labels so screen readers can navigate them.
- Images have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and controls meet AA color-contrast requirements.
- Every video with sound has closed captions, turned on by default.
- Animation and motion stop when your device is set to reduce motion, and the moving logo banner can be paused.
- Pages reflow on small screens and can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
- Pop-ups, including the contact form and the course, video and image viewers, close with the Esc key and return you to where you were.
Known limitations
The courses, presentations and design samples here are portfolio pieces: original work built for clients between 2010 and 2024, shown as delivered. Some were created before current accessibility standards or for a client’s own platform, so:
- Some older courses, especially the early Microsoft ExpertZone titles, use text inside images, timed animation or drag-and-drop activities that may be hard to use with a screen reader or keyboard.
- Course quizzes and interactions follow each original design and may not announce every change to assistive technology.
- Presentation slides are shown as images, so a screen reader hears each deck’s title rather than the full slide text.
- Design archive pieces are visual samples; their descriptions summarize the work rather than reproduce every word.
Need another format?
If any part of this site is hard to use, or you would like a course, presentation or design sample described in text, just let me know. Tell me which page or piece you mean and how I can help, and I will get back to you, usually within one business day.
How this site was tested
The site is checked with automated WCAG testing tools and by hand: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader structure, zoom and small-screen layouts, and caption playback. It is designed to work in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, together with the accessibility features built into macOS, iOS, Windows and Android.
